Some of the team of Breakthrough pros, that includes Mike Romanus, Ken Lubrant, Bob Matice, Bob Morse, Bart Lipori, Karen Lutz, Lisa Heinege, Ed Petrosius. . . . pausing for a group shot in Snowmass
I am no longer directing my week-long, total-saturation ski courses every season in Aspen. But the good news is that you can still opt for the same concentrated Breakthrough ski-learning experiences, with the same amazing ski pros that I worked with for over a decade in Aspen and Snowmass. I can't tell you how proud and enthusiastic I am about this group of ski pros, who are simply the finest instructors I have ever known and worked with.
My friend Mike Romanus, ski instructor extraordinaire, was the course coordinator for our Breakthrough on Skis weeks for many seasons. Mike is your best contact to arrange a full-on breakthrough-on-skis learning experience. Mike can help you arrange a custom Breakthrough week for your own group of friends and family with one of the highly skilled Breakthrough pros. You can email Mike at rom@rof.net, or contact him through the Ski School reservations desk at the Aspen Skiing Company (1 800 525 200).
My very best advice vis à vis this intensive ski learning option is
to be sure you sign up for a whole week of lessons (yes, five days will do). Even one or two days with the best pro in the world isn't really enough to build and totally reinforce new skiing patterns. You want your new expert skills to really stick, to really be yours for good, and it takes repetition and reinforcement to build those habits. That's the promise. And these Breakthrough pros can, and do, deliver on that promise.
I shouldn't end this page about achieving skiing breakthroughs in the amazing four-area Aspen ski complex, without a few very important Thank Yous. First, one last, and heartfelt, expression of thanks to my many students over the years, and next to all the wonderful pros I have worked with at Aspen. Finally, not least, special thanks to the Aspen Ski School, for always backing and supporting innovative new directions in ski teaching. Bravo Aspen!
